Tower Heist

Tower Heist is hilarious. The film hit theaters on November 4th. It stars Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Alan Alda and Casey Affleck.
When Arthur Shaw's (Alda) Ponzi scheme is revealed, the tower workers are devastated, and have lost all funds. Josh,(Stiller) feeling partially responsible, intends on getting it back. In addition to the newest tower employee, a broke Merrill Lynch invester and Charlie, (Affleck) Josh enlists the help of a petty neighborhood criminal named Slide (Murphy). They plan for a break in on Thanksgiving. Anything can happen during a robbery, and the truth can be shocking...
Murphy is back from unpopular, serious, commercial films, and is drop dead funny. Alda makes Shaw remind you of Bernie Maddoff and his scheme. Michael Pena is fresh and funny as the new Tower employee from Burger King. I rate it an "A" on a grade scale. It's terrific and comical.

Crystal to Host Oscars Again

Billy Crystal will be hosting the 84th Academy Awards (Oscars) in 2012. The comedian/actor hosted the Oscars eight times, the last being in 2004. He will replace Eddie Murphy, who backed out of hosting them not long before Crystal was hired. He is experienced at hosting the Oscars, which of course go to the best of actors.

On Stranger Tides DVD Release

Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides in coming on DVD and Blu-Ray tommorow (October 18). Let Jack, Angelica, and all the others sail to your home. I enjoyed it. I think director Rob Marshall did fine without former stars like Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and Bill Nighy.
Blackbeard and Angelica kidnap Jack aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge. Barbossa and the English are also on the quest for the Fountain of Youth, as they face pirates and Spaniards. It stars Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane, Geoffrey Rush and Stephen Graham. The new tides include also cannabalistic mermaids. Everyone wants the fountain. I rated it a 4.5 of 5 stars. It's action packed and funny. As I put it, Excellent and cliff hanging. So buy it when it comes to Blu-Ray and DVD tommorow.

Comming Soon to DVD: Rodrick Rules

On Tuesday, June 21, Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules is coming to Blue Ray and DVD. The movie is mostly based on the sequel to the hit Diary of a Wimpy Kid, a hit book by Jeff Kinney. Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon) doesn't get along with his brother (Devan Bostick). Attempts to make them bond by their mother (Rachel Harris) all botch. This happens until the brothers cover up a party they Rodrick was forbidden to host. But when there actions change and they are "convicted" by their parents. Rodrick returns to torturing Greg and they argue.
The movie has humor and is a story of friendship. I liked it, and rated it a B. So buy it and watch this film when comes to stores tomorrow.

Find out in this tale that can come to your home and your TV screen on February 25. I rated it a B+ and enjoyed it. It was good, and humorous for children and exciting for youngsters.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Edmund (Skandar Keynes) and Lucy (Georgie Henley) Pevensie are visiting their unpleasant cousin Eustace (Will Poulter) when they once again are pulled into the magical world of Narnia. There, they meet up with their friend King Caspian (Ben Barnes) on the Dawn Treader, a ship. They are travelling to find the seven lords banished by Caspian's evil uncle Miraz years before. They go to many different islands, looking for signs of the seven lords. But Dark Island is a threat. It is the center of evil. Each of the seven lords carried a special sword. All seven swords must be laid at Aslan's Table to end the evil. Now Caspian, Lucy, and Edmund must face their personal temptations and fears to end the villany.
This installment of the Chronicles of Narnia is directed by Michael Apted. Personally, I enjoyed it better than the last movie of the series: Prince Caspian. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has plenty of fantasy adventure and is religious in the end. It also explains Eustace's turn from unpleasant traveller to hero (although he literally changes into a dragon). I rate this a four star movie. It is something the family can enjoy!
