Iron Man 3

                                                                 Rated 4.25 Stars

Many wanted to know exactly how Marvel would follow up after the Avengers. Now we know, and we are happy. Iron Man 3 immediately captivates the audience and foreshadows the rest of the film. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is being hounded mainly by his post traumatic stress, and also his relationship, and newest foe: the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley). I personally enjoyed the new director Shane Black over former director Jon Favreau. Iron Man 3 is filled with suspense on every corner. So many things keep us guessing. It also has enough action (maybe slightly too much) and Stark's natural humor. Guy Pearce plays Aldrich Killian as a mix of Justin Hammer from "Iron Man 2" and Buddy/Syndrome from "The Incredibles," and of course, adds his on twist. While still maintaining a few major differences from the comics, I definitely consider Iron Man 3. better than Iron Man 2. Apparently many people had similar views on this marvelous film because as of June 4th it is the 5th highest grossing worldwide film in history.

Weekend Gross (May 31-June 2)

The top grossing films were:
Fast and Furious 6: $35.16 million over the weekend. It is a week old and has grossed $171 million so far. This is an action/crime film and the sixth in the Fast and Furious film series. It stars Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto and Paul Walker as Brian O'Conner.

Now You See Me: $29.35 million over the weekend. It was released on Friday, May 31.
This is a highly anticipated thriller/crime film,. It stars Jesse Eisenberg as magician/criminal J.Daniel Atlas.

Notes. It was a rather quiet weekend at the box office. Fast and Furious 6 easily took first place for the second straight weekend. After Earth, a science fiction film by Will Smith came in third, thus making it the biggest commercial failure on opening weekend by a Will Smith movie.

Sorry For the Wait

Die Hard For Movies has been on a hiatus since September 2012. After a few attempts to reboot the blog, Paul and Victor are back at it. We will continue to rate PG and PG-13 movies. We intend to get a larger following this time around. The hiatus is over, and there will be an increase in movies viewed in summer and autumn after a busy winter for the writers. Stay tuned as big movies come out this summer and fall. We thank our followers and welcome new ones. Time to Die Harder.
